Small Claims cases are any kind of civil case in which the amount being claimed or in dispute is equal to or less than $5,000.00. Simplified forms are used to start any small claims matter.

For any case where the amount being claimed is more than $5,000.00 but less than or equal to $15,000.00 the case is filed in the County Court. These cases can be a bit more complicated in terms of the documents which need to be filed and the rules which need to be followed.
